Hello wonderful Ruvheneko Trust supporters!
I am so sorry we have been out of touch for so long. This has been a busy year full of lots of surprises but also lots of good work and even more grace. Personally, I’ve been finishing up university and starting to venture out into the “real world” and have not been able to contribute the time I’d like to supporting Belinda and RT. But our wonderful African Queen has been pouring her heart and life into RT projects over the past months and I’m honored to update you all on how the Trust is doing. Thank you for your patience and unconditional love and support for us!
A few highlights of 2011 thus far:
- The Ruvheneko Trust soccer and netball leagues: we had our first successful soccer and netball season culminating in a Sanyati-wide championship tournament with prizes and all! The soccer and netball league was a great way to engage young people in the community and a wonderful platform for sharing the Gospel and demonstrating God’s love through competitive sport. There’s nothing like some friendly competition to bring a community together! The league was also great publicity for the Trust and a lot of fun for those involved.
- RT’s first intern: Sara Eccleston, Capernwray student in 2006-2007, joined Belinda in Zimbabwe this summer as the Trust’s first official intern. Her contribution to the Trust was invaluable, including helping raise support for the ongoing borehole project, putting together official documents and designing a new newsletter. Thank you, Sara!! You can read a letter from Sara here. And if you’re interested in teaming up with RT on the ground, for a few weeks or a few months, please email us at ruvhenekotrust[at]gmail[dot]com. We’d be happy to have you!
- An official office: RT now has it’s own office space right in Sanyati! Complete with the RT logo, Belinda now has a permanent location to base her work in the community and a place for locals to meet, discuss needs and form essential partnerships with the Trust.
- Orphan sponsorship: One of Ruvheneko Trust’s key projects is still in full swing–supporting orphans in paying their school fees so they are not denied an education and hope for a future. RT has added approximately 20 primary and secondary students to the program and needs your help in providing education for the neediest residents of Sanyati. Please consider donating to RT’s Orphan School Fees Campaign today.
And we know you all want to see pictures! We will provide those for you as soon as possible.
Thanks again for your unwavering support and we look forward to partnering with you all in the upcoming months and yeras. Remember, if you have any questions, ideas, or would like to contribute, you can email us at ruvhenekotrust[at]gmail[dot]com! We also expect to have a re-vamped website early next year.
Love and blessings,
