Thanks for stopping by and checking out some of the different projects Belinda is currently working on in Zimbabwe. On behalf of Belinda I wanted to inform you of what she has been up to recently and where the Trust is headed in the new year. Our vision for 2010 comes from Psalm 2v7-8: “You are my Son, Today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, And the very ends of the earth as Your possession.” As Belinda told me, we enter 2010 leaving yesterday’s disappointments and failures behind and cross over onto dry ground with the promised land in full vision. God is going to do amazing things this year!
Lawyers filed the registration papers for the Trust just before Christmas and the deed could arrive at any time. Thank you for providing the registration fees–you know who you are! 🙂 Once the deed comes through Belinda will return to Sanyati (she has been living in Harare while working on all of the legal tasks for the Trust), look for land to purchase for building a community center, register with the local welfare department and regional council and set up offices there. The project proposal is completed (all 37 pages!) and will enable Belinda to start applying for grants from different foundations. [You can view the entire proposal by downloading the pdf file on the “updates” page.] She will also be setting up a bank account once registration is completed to provide more accountability and allow for more fundraising.
So how can you help? First, and always foremost, pray. There are many steps and hurdles in this process so please pray that everything will go smoothly and be completed in a timely manner and that God’s hand will be on the bureaucracy as they approve Belinda’s projects. Belinda is also considering applying for grants including from the Rockefeller Foundation so pray that they will approve her grant requests. Pray that God will bring forth leaders in the community that want to partner with Belinda as she establishes her Trust and the community center. These projects take a lot of people and dedication, so pray that God brings the right people alongside her this year to support her and further her work.
The chicken project is going well–Belinda recently slaughtered the first 100 chickens and a friend is helping sell them to generate an income. Another 100 are arriving soon! We will keep you up to date on things as they develop this year.
Thank you all for your prayers and support! I truly believe this would not be happening if it weren’t for the awesome community at Capernwray that has inspired and supported Belinda from the beginning. You rock!
Lots of love and blessings for the new year,
